Ollie....... is a 40-lb., golden Terrier Mix, fully grown, 1-year old male  He is in perfect health, neutered, completely vaccinated and has had a chip inserted and awaiting registration to his new owner.  Also, he is house-trained, understands some basic commands and walks beautifully on or off leash. He has probably been abandoned.  I’ve scoured “Lost Pet” sites for a week and no one seems to be looking for him.   I found this poor thing wandering in shock along SW 137th Ave, just passed 162nd Street.  He had been shot several times by a pellet gun and had wounds from an apparent dog fight. I took him to my vet (Town and Country Hospital across from Tamiami Airport) where he spent a week having pellets removed, getting fully vaccinated and neutered, having his coat completely rid of any ticks or fleas (he is now on Frontline Plus), Ollie’s demeanor couldn’t be better.  He’s minimally hyper (much more tranquil than MOST 1-year old’s), easy to handle and  is so grateful for any affection and attention.  I am unable to keep Ollie as I am only allowed “two pets per household” and I already have two dogs. I’ve been given some time to foster him , but the deadline is drawing near.  All I want is that you give him the love, attention, protection, comfort and care he deserves. TIGER...Urgent. Brindle Box/ Lab mix, 3 yrs,male. He is a great dog.  Owner cannot keep him as she only has a week or so  when the bank will take her home. HURRICANE HELP FOR DOG SHELTER Sabbath Dog Rescue, located in the Redlands area of Miami, between Kendall and Homestead, is looking for about 75-100 persons to help us with our dogs, should a hurricane come this way. Our goal is to place one or two dogs in every home that could be available for a few days until the storm passes. Our shelter is an outdoor facility located on a 9 acre farm.  We must move the dogs when we know a storm will hit this area and would request that you pick the dog up from us and return after the storm has passed. Female Pit.....please help me. i am 17 years old and visiting florida from chicago. on july 4th i found a full grown female pitt bull actually she found me. she looked distressed from heat so i took care of her and iced her down and gave her food and water but since i do not live her i could not keep her. i brought her to the police department to see if they could house her and find her family. later that night they turned her over to animal care and regulation. i know because i returned the next day to check up on her. i then called animal control and they said that they will only hold her so many days until they decide if she is fit for adoption otherwise they will put her down. i can't let that happen. she is the sweetest most loving dog i have seen. she does not bit, growl or bark and is very loving. she listens to commands and follows you. she will even let you hold her and kiss her face. please help me. i have been crying for the past 2 days because i don't want her to die. i know that you guys are full but please if you could find her a home i will not be satisfied until i know that she is safe and in good loving hands. please find room for her. please call me at 773-632-7322 or 954-662-7031 i would really appreciate iti am sending a picture of her. Very cool,  confident and needs a new permanent home. Neutered. He is a dog that should be owned by those willing to work with him. We had a great home for him up until June 23. Unfortunately the gentleman who adopted him must have serious surgery and this couple can no longer care for him. He had a great home and now he is back at our shelter and is not very happy about it.  Oreo is about 2 years old. He has a problem with some other dogs now but has been known to get along fine with other dogs in the past but because he has been thru hell, he must be supervised around other dogs and you must not leave him alone. In time he will be able to be left in a secure area for short periods of time. Better if he is with someone to keep him company. He is easy to walk on leash but the person must maintain control.  We realize this sounds like a huge effort but this dog is well worth it. If you love big, strong and young dogs, please come see Oreo. About 85-90 lbs he can be a great protector just by looking at him. Beautiful dog in great shape and muscular. He is very energetic and needs to be kept on eye on as he is young and strong.  He is  very friendly with everyone. We found him on the streets so a good home will definitely help him settle down.  He loves to play but also loves affection and will sit on command. ARIA....20 month old female, Golden Retriever, Fixed, Sweet, loves people and children. Attaches very quickly.Very good with other dogs, but timid and shy. SABBATH DOG RESCUE......VOLUNTEERS NEEDED ! Available for adoption or foster...............  BON BON.......Its been quite a while since I posted my need to find Bon Bon a foster home or rescue; he is the beautiful, sad little Pittie I pulled out of a kill-shelter in southern Indiana.  He arrived in very bad condition--so bad that my vet thought that they had substituted another dog for the one in the picture.  He has been recovering ever since at my vet's clinic, where I am boarding him, and he is gaining weight and looking so well--as of last Monday, he had regained 5 very needed pounds and his dandruff was almost gone.  He is even better now, and is running around in the yard when they take him outside and playing.  He is a very sweet and cooperative boy who obeys very readily and has never shown any aggression.  He was a pet until his owners turned him into the ac/shelter becasue they were moving.  We are in Madison, Wisc.   Bon Bon loves squeaky toys to play with. He knows a lot of commands; sit, lay, stay, get in kennel, wait, and up. He takes his bath easily. DOB 5-16-07. Vacs current through the end of 09. Neutered at 10 wks. Miami-Dade County leads the nation in foreclosure rates, one consequence of which is a huge increase in the number of abandoned dogs.  Sabbath Rescue now has more dogs in its shelter than ever before.  Last year we kept an average of 90 dogs in the shelter.  Today, we care for more than 200.   We need additional financial aid to operate now, as donations to the shelter have decreased.  Our foundation income has also decreased sharply. The cost of veterinarian care, medical supplies, and overall operating expenses are increasing.  We are at a point where we do not have enough money to provide all the services we are accustomed to providing which includes medical care, spay & neutering, vaccines and much more.  The situation is serious.   We are in great need of cash infusion to help us continue.
