Description of Job Duties:
This position is one of three gas safety engineering positions in the Miami district office. Each of these positions are responsible for reviewing the records and performing field inspections of equipment for several natural gas distribution companies. As such, the position requires moderate overnight travel and a state:owned vehicle is provided. Shadowing of other engineers will be necessary until the qualified candidate passes the required Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administrations (PHMSA) courses. A condition of continued employment is the successful completion of seven core courses offered by the PHMSA within a three year period. Such training is provided by the Commission.
Must have a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in an area of engineering.
Special consideration will be given to applicants who have knowledge in the gas safety industry or have completed PHMSA TQ training for natural gas safety.
Special consideration will be given to applicants with the ability to review, analyze, and evaluate data and the ability to community effectively verbally and in writing.
This position requires possession of a valid driver license.
