Planta is seeking a talented, creative, and poised individual for the position of Chef de Cuisine. The Chef de Cuisine will possess exceptional knowledge of plant-based culinary items and will create an unparalleled guest experience by creating masterpieces and displaying efficient service. The ideal candidate for this position will have 4+ years of relevant experience in a fast-paced fine dining restaurant.



WHATS ON YOUR PLATE:

· Create plant-based dishes that elicit a wow factor from our customers

· Design and roll out menu items that engage and excite our customers

· Oversee the day-to-day operations of the team, including the supervision of all Sous Chefs and line cooks

· Follow proper ordering, inventory, and receiving procedures

· Ensuring adherence to labour and COG budget lines

· Ability to properly manage your time and delegate tasks to the kitchen staff

· Shows leadership in creating a culture that promotes Planta’s visions and values

· Remain current with food safety standards

· Promote and maintain a clean and safe work area at all times

INGREDIENTS YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE:

· Plant-based culinary experience preferred

· Remain current with food safety standards

· Promote and maintain a clean and safe work area at all times

· Strong understanding about the specific principles behind your craft

· Understand the biology of food safety related to using perishable and fragile foods

· Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or relevant role preferred

· Excellent food preparation techniques

· Strong attention to detail and maintaining a clean and organized work space is essential

· Strong leadership skills and the ability to properly manage your time while coordinating with other employees of the kitchen staff
