Scientist - Shaw Group (Miami Lakes, FL)

Other duties include compiling data for project reports, collecting and compiling field data as required, assisting in proposal efforts as directed, documenting technical data for management review, providing other duties as assigned, assisting with preparation of labor/material estimates and design packages for clients. Ensures conformance of work to applicable FDOT and FDEP codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures. While the day-to-day responsibilities of the job will vary with experience and education, responsibilities could include a combination of the following:
. Soil and groundwater sample collection
. Surface water sampling
. Field inspections
. Assimilating field data
. Technical report preparation
. Project coordination
. Interaction with clients and regulatory agencies
Qualifications/Competencies/Experience:
Organizes own work to meet deadlines set by others. Communicates information, asks questions and checks for understanding. Builds team effectiveness skills within own work team. Requires Bachelors or Masters Degree in Geology/Environmental Sciences or equivalent. Must have a minimum of two years of experience. Strong communication skills, a valid driver''s license with a good driving record and the ability to work in the field (all seasons, full days, and carrying equipment) are required.
