The Panalpina Group operates a global network with some 500 offices in more than 80 countries, and employs around 15,000 people worldwide.We are looking to hire a Corporate EDI Developer to facilitate the integration of electronic data with trading partners from/to our Panalpina landscape to increase productivity, user transparency, streamline process and enhance the data quality / visibility within the Supply Chain. To achieve that, the Corporate EDI Developer will analyze, implement and enable interfaces among the business sectors and Panalpina applications, using his/her expertise, apply tool set, promote innovation to build solutions. The Corporate EDI Developer will assist the Integration Manager or Project Lead to offer best in class Data integration, solutions and innovations based on the submitted business request specifications.ResponsibilitiesKey Tasks:• Identify within our Landscape, Architecture and Design• Analysis of the EDI/B2B/Integration IT requests for solutions• Work on Development Tasks, Mapping, Business Process Development (BPML)• Implementation of EDI/B2B/Integration interfaces and Promote Best Practices• Setup of technical Communication connectivity with Panalpina Trading Partners• Consult on as need basis to the project team, liaise with technical level coordinator and support project team. Identify potential GAPs and offer best practices to implement the solutions, account for exceptions and quality assurances of the deliverables.• Adhere to using the common used methodology and construct from services available in our Tool box.• Provide Level II Support, coordination of the “Run†on productionFunction / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / Process workingTechnical expertise in the area of Data Integration:Electronic Data Standards (EDI, XML, IDOC, ANY to ANY...)Layout and Define Business Process Steps, BPML, XSLT, Adapters, APICommunication protocols (SMTP, FTP, HTTPs, B2B, AS2...)Practical experience in developing on our Corporate Integration platform IBM Sterling Integrator, knowledge to interface with importers and application layer interfacesKnowledge in Freight Forwarding and Logistics, Supply Chain, WMS, associate business terms, application level functions and transform down into to the technical levelQualificationsFunction / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / Process Working:• Experience in an international matrix work environment• Profound know-how and application of general HR concepts / processes• Sound HR knowledge in HR processes and instruments• Project management and process skillsSkills & CompetenciesReadiness to provide alternatives and optimized solutions to the customerTeam player (with internal and external customers)Capable to generate creative ideas/solutionsAbility to work with different cultures and to manage cross functional interfacesTime management (monitoring performance against deadlines and milestones)Knowledge, Basic System & Network Level Administration, SQL command language and Relational Database, API and HandshakesEducational background / Work experienceIT Background > 5 years working on integration and implementing solutionsEquivalent of BS or CertificationWork experience in IT Data Integration Area, Logistics, Supply Chain, WMS, TMExperience in customer facing at IT Coordinator levelLanguages• Good verbal and written communication skillsComputer Literacy• Practical experience working with B2B Tool, Mapping, BPML• Business Analysis adapt to agile development• Practical experience working with Supply Chain Systems/Applications, Customer ERP back-end.• Basic System & Network level Administration, command line and script• Adapt to new technology/trends and research into new areas• Working knowledge of MS-Office tools, Visio, and other related software utilities, applications..
