This professional position is responsible for a multi-program survey process. This survey process includes conducting on-site surveys of a variety of health care facilities to determine compliance with federal and state licensure, certification and inspection of care requirements, implementing utilization control functions of Title XVIII and Title XIX programs where applicable and reviewing/evaluating the quality of care and services provided to all clients in the facilities surveyed. The position may be required to perform these duties as a team leader, team member or individually as assigned. The position may be assigned to a team leader, other than the immediate supervisor, who will have technical guidance or control during the assignment only. Must successfully complete Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test within 12 months of employment.TRAVEL IS REQUIREDCOUNTIES: Miami DADE COUNTY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:1) Must be knowledgeable of the principles of administration and management.2)Knowledge of state licensure and federal certification requirements.3)Skills are needed in the techniques of oral communication, especially attentive listening; interview procedures; team dynamics; and methods of documentation reviews.4)Ability to plan and organize is required to ensure timely completion of survey responsibilities.5)Ability to utilize microcomputer equipment and software to enter, retrieve and manipulate data required to perform licensure and certification functions.6)Ability to travel providing own transportation.7)Ability to ambulate, bend and lift on a regular basis. (laptop computers, manuals, etc.)8)Ability to work before and after normal work hours, including on weekends and holidays. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:•This occupation requires licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.27 and three years of professional nursing experience, including one year of professional experience in a specialty field (cardiac lab, geriatric care, emergency department , etc.) as determined by the employing agency. •A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nursing or a related field can substitute for one year of the required general professional nursing experience.
