The Insurance Consultant will be responsible for financial and analytical activities which encompass a broad spectrum of responsibilities to support the insurance product lines. S/he will develop and execute processes to evaluate, and assess insurance product line initiatives and strategic alternatives to enhance the profitable growth of the insurance product lines. Furthermore, the incumbent provides actionable analysis and insights to feed strategy development and facilitate tactical decision:making. Periodic and ad hoc reports and analysis to foster on:going decision:making and forecasting is required. The Insurance Consultant will have a high level of interaction, up to senior levels and serve as a technical consultant with the IT, Insurance Accounting, Safety, Sales, Operations, Pricing, Billing and other departments as well as with Ryders insurance brokers, vendors and customers to assist in technical consulting on a project planning, customer servicing and business analysis level.MasterA?s degree in finance, preferred or equivalent work experienceMinimum of five (5) years business experience in financial/accounting; ten (10) years experience preferred Project management experience preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational skills to effectively manage projects and ability to switch priorities to fit business needsSuperior technical and analytical skills; methodical in problem solvingAbility to work successfully with and assist in technical leadership and consulting across the organization, and with insurance brokers and vendors on a project planning and analytical levelKnowledge of : MS Excel such as working with formulas, data tables, pivot charts, queries, custom functions, regression analysis and other data management analysis and developing financial reports (advanced level)MS Office Suite (advanced level)MS Access (advanced level), preferred Oversee and perform activities related to recurrent monthly financial and analytical processesProvide monthly, quarterly and annual financial insurance reportsManage insurance data:related projects, including developing specifications, interviewing vendors and implementation with internal and external sourcesCollaborate with leadership to prepare analytical analysis and business casesCreate reports and provide tools for forecasting and strategic business planningPartner with IT as needed to develop risk analysis tools to monitor insurance product line performancePresent to senior management key performance indicators pertaining to claim frequency and severity analysisWork with brokers, vendors, customers and internal departments to provide data and analysisDevelop, maintain and update insurance pricing toolPerform other duties as assignedRyder is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free workplace.
