ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES To teach students citizenship skills, provide students with practice in self-government and opportunities for input into Center policies Provide students with opportunities to learn and practice leadership skills. Collaborate with all leadership groups tracking training for all leadership student groups Assist Student Government in holding elections, organizing activities, planning and organizing SGA activities on and off Center and maintaining the organization. Assist officers in establishing committees, writing reports, and running meetings and conducting monthly SGA surveys. Attend weekly Executive Board meetings and Student council sessions. Guides members in preparing agenda and conducting orderly business meetings. Maintains current by-laws, constitution and SOP's pertaining to Student Government. Reviews documents annually. Responsible for designing, scheduling and implementing weekly leadership training classes. Plans and conducts leadership training seminars for eligible students. Responsible for monitoring Student Welfare Association to generate income for the Association. Closely monitors the association activities to insure proper disbursement of funds. Creates an awareness of Student Government throughout the Center, and designs ways to get the staff involved in government operations. Serves as a positive role model for students by enforcing appropriate behavior and maintain in a helpful, responsible and concerned attitude toward them. Attends and supervises students at the annual SGA Leadership Conference or other Job Corps functions as scheduled Ensures all required reports and postings are available to students throughout the Center Maintains relationships with organizations outside of the Center for community service projects. Coordinates student participation in community service activities. Follows all guidelines, policies, and procedures set by the Department of Labor/Job Corps and ResCare, Inc. Works closely with Career Counseling and Career Training departments to teach leadership training and plan activities for nonresident students. Supervises the Student Store and boutique including opening and closing, hiring of students, ordering inventory. Creates Monthly Financial Reports, conducts daily and monthly inventories Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related filed and/or equivalent combination of education and related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid State driver's license
