Job Summary:

The preschool director reports to the owner/shareholder of the school. Candidate creates policies, manages staff and oversees daily operations. The director is the lead administrator of the school and handles problems with staff, students and parents. Responsible for developing the curriculum and ensure the school meets all standards set by law. Other duties include teaching classes as needed, determining spending responsibilities and making admission decisions.


• Oversee registrations and enrollments for preschool, after-school and summer camp.
• Provide tours to prospective students
• Provide children with a solid early learning experience.
• Supervise and manage a staff of approximately 17 employees.
• Responsible for interviewing, hiring and terminating staff.
• Oversee VPK Program (reimbursement records, attends meetings, etc).
• Maintain all Department of Children & Family (DCF) and Volunteer Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) records and inspections.
• Oversee The Florida Food Program
• Responsible for planning and implementation of curriculum
• Plan and oversee execution of all preschool special events and programs.
• Set up classes and class lists.
• Prepare and sign contracts.
• Attend all parent/teacher or parent/director conferences.
• Complete evaluations of all staff.
• Facilitate planning of and implementation of staff training.
• Address child behavior issues.
• Oversee morning and after care.
• Responsible for staffing and rehire of preschool camp staff.
• Hire, schedule and supervise summer camp program.
• Schedule all camp activities, field trips and bus transportation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years supervisory /director experience
• Poses all licenses/certifications or specialized training as required by State law and/or regulatory agencies to include the 45 hours training course
• A CDA or Degree in Early Childhood Education
• Florida Director Credential
• VPK teacher
• Valid driver’s license; comfortable working with a diverse population; upbeat friendly attitude; excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a Plus
