This job exists for the purpose of teaching children and ensuring that they learn the subject matter, skills, and attitudes that will facilitate their development as mature, able and responsible Christian men and women and productive members of society through quality instruction.KINDERGARTEN TEACHER | MIAMI, FLThe Christian school teacher guides students in classroom activities that empower them to achieve their learning potential. The teacher motivates students to be critical thinkers and creative problem-solvers and fosters a classroom environment that encourages a passion for learning using various methodsRESPONSIBILITIESSPIRITUAL ACCOUNTABILITY* Models a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ in speech, actions, attitudes* Sets example of the importance of prayer, Scripture memorization and study, witnessing, and unity in Christian fellowship* Follows Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, administration, and staff* Shows support for the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for their children's education, and assists them in the task* Encourages students to accept God's gift of salvation and grow in their faith* Emphasizes to students the reality of their self-worth in Christ* Open each class with prayer.INSTRUCTIONAL* Integrates biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum* Demonstrates mastery of the subject matter* Uses effective teaching techniques to achieve curriculum goals and promote student learning* Teaches classes as assigned and scheduled by the administrator* Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students, challenging each to do his or her best work* Prepares and submits weekly lesson plans for the administrator's review* Employs a variety of instructional aids, methods, and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the whole child-spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, emotional.* Plans, through approved channels, the balanced use of field trips, guest lecturers, and other media* Uses homework effectively for drill, review, enrichment, or project work* Assesses the learning of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required* Integrate school wide theme scriptures into classroom* Provide remediation or enrichment for students as necessary* Compile and maintain an up to date sub folder* Prepares interim/final assessments* Implements a strong written classroom management plan* Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to studentsNON-INSTRUCTIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL* Cooperates with the board and administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school* Maintains regular and accurate attendance and grade records to meet the demand for a comprehensive knowledge of each student's progress* Prepare report cards and ongoing grade record keeping on Sycamore School.* Establish and maintain regular communication with parents as specified by administrative policy* Keeps students, parents, and the administration adequately informed of deficiencies and gives sufficient notice of failure* Accepts a share of responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned* Utilizes educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth* Seeks the counsel of the administrator, colleagues, and parents, and is teachable* Attends and participates in scheduled devotional, committee, faculty, and Parent- Teacher Fellowship meetings* Demonstrates knowledge of procedures for dealing with emergencies* Contributes to the general improvement of the school program by offering suggestions, completing surveys, and participating in the accreditation process for the continuous improvement of the school.* Be available for student questions, concerns, ministry, and counsel outside of instructional time* Attend/participate in: Open Houses, Parent Meetings, and other school/staff events the promote relationship building with students, parents, and colleagues.* Participates in professional development to stay current in the educational field/subject matter.* Know the student dress code in order to ensure students comply with the standardsPERSONAL* Demonstrates the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality* Meets everyday stress with emotional stability, objectivity, and optimism* Exercises friendliness and consideration, treating students without partiality* Submits respectfully and is loyal to constituted authority* Maintains a personal appearance that is a role model of cleanliness, modesty, and good taste* Uses acceptable English in written and oral communication; speaks with clear articulation.* Develops and maintains rapport with students, parents, and staff to promote a positive learning environment* Recognizes the need for good public relations; represents the school in a favorable and professional manner to its constituency and the general public* Demonstrates an appreciation and understanding of the uniqueness of the local communityBACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE* Education and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.* English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.* Psychology, Mathematics, Computers and Electronics, Geography, History, and Archaeology* Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.* Christianity - Knowledge of what it means to be a follower of Christ based on the biblical example.MINIMUM SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED* Passion for teaching* The call of God to serve as a teacher* Strong commitment to the philosophy of Christian education and educational philosophies of Worshipers' House of Prayer Academy* Written and Oral fluency in English* Excellent interpersonal skills with children, their parents, colleagues andadministration.* Effective Instruction, effective classroom management, organizational SkillsMINIMUM ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS* -Florida State Certification in Subject Area and/or ACSI Certification* -Minimum Bachelor's Degree
