Job Summary

The Director of EnTec (Engineering and Technology) Program Development provides leadership, direction and support in program and curricular design, development and review, and the promotion and marketing of new programs. This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade Colleges District Board of Trustees.

Duties and Responsibilities

:Designs, implements and evaluates workforce driven programs by developing economic models through in:depth research analyses
:Keeps the Colleges academic leadership informed of emerging trends and potential areas of new program development
:Serves as a liaison with FLDOE, reviews state:wide curricula frameworks, and ensures compliance with SACS COC
:Facilitates the program learning outcomes assessment process to understand and strengthen teaching and learning
:Collaborates with the Communications Department with program branding and marketing of new programs
:Collaborates with the School Director, faculty and Resource Development Office on grant proposals
:Facilitates seven (7) different disciplines committees within the School of Engineering and Technology
:Participates actively in two (2) industry advisory committees
:Works directly with the Office of Academic Programs on behalf of the School of EnTec
:Conducts market research for the recruitment of both faculty and students for newly developed academic programs which include
:Identifies, creates and implements faculty and staff professional development training opportunities
:Forms strategic industry partnerships that establish the School as a model of workforce:driven academic programming which includes
:Represents the School at various venues to promote new programs and form new partnership opportunities which include upper and lower division academic degree programs as well as certificate programs
:Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements

:Masters degree from a regionally accredited institution and five (5) years of relevant experience in curriculum, academic program and industry partnership development; or Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution and nine (9) years of relevant experience in curriculum, academic program and industry partnership development
:All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
:Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
:Knowledge and understanding of instructional design and project management
:Excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written)
:Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
:Ability to work effectively with subject matter experts and synthesize knowledge
:Ability to develop and implement strategic plans
:Ability to effectively market and promote new programs
:Knowledge of STEM disciplines and interdisciplinary domains
:Knowledge of curriculum development process, state regulations and accrediting agency criteria
:Excellent research skills to identify and understand new technologies and domains
:Ability to work in multiethnic and multicultural environment with students, faculty and staff
