Responsible for managing the financial counseling operations for all patient access entry points throughout the UHealth system which includes the UMMG practice and Hospital division. Oversees financial counseling services that are patient centric and contribute to increased upfront collections and cash flow that are vital to the financial success of the organization.
Bachelor's degree in business, finance. Masters degree preferred. Three (3) or more years of demonstrated competency in healthcare management experience that includes extensive knowledge and understanding of insurance eligibility and benefits, contracting, and financial counseling. Knowledge of accounting, finance and business management. Ability to prepare clear and comprehensive oral and written communications. Extensive knowledge of policies, procedures, systems and equipment relating to pre-admission, billing and collection, regulations and guidelines pertaining to third party payers and self pay balances. Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to provide leadership in team building endeavors. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications will be considered.
