1896 lithograph in colors on wove paper after Toulouse-Lautrec. A lifetime impression. A fine example in olive, red, yellow, and black. Transcribed in 1896 from Lautrec's 1892 full size poster designed to publicize a notorious novel by Victor Joze, titled Reine de joie, moeurs du demi-monde. In this scene, the gold-digging heroine, Helene Roland plants a kiss on the fat banker, Olizac. This image was published in the monthly series Les Affiches Illustrees, a collection of small format poster images for collectors. The series was published in 1896 by Ernest Maindron and printed by Imprimerie Eugene Verneau in Paris. Edition Size is 1,050. Many of these have not survived in as good condition as this one; many have not survived at all. Conservation framed in elegant French style antiqued gold frame. Finished with creme linen matting and gold fillet. All materials are archival and museum quality. Set behind a UV-resistant acrylic cover. Framed size is 19-3/4 inches H x 16-1/2 inches W (50.1 cm x 41.9 cm). COA. See closeup photos and more details at:
