About this role:
The successful candidate will ideally hold existing marine authorzations with interest to develop their experience in the existing passenger ship field in a larger team environment. You will conduct existing surveys for a variety of vessel types including cruise ships and yachts. This position requires frequent travel to islands in the Caribbean.
Meanwhile, you will pursue continuous professional development to remain fully knowledgeable about the technical considerations that are pertinent to clients and clasification society rules.
You will assess all risks and work in a safe manner at all time, reporting in a timely manner all incidents including near misses and safety observations.
You will have:
1 to 2 years of experience working as a marine surveyor at a IACS member marine classification society.
A degree or equivalent within a relevant field of study such as marine engineering.
Thorough understanding of the shipping market and marine environment.
Ability to participate in and add value to marine technical discussions with clients and LR colleagues.
Organizatonal and planning skills, ability to prioritize to meet deadlines.
Intermediate or advanced experience using MS Office suite of products: Word, Excel, Outlook.
Experierence as a passenger ship surveyor would be of advantage.
