Loss Prevention Officer Miami - Publix (Miami, FL)

The associate will work in an undercover capacity in multiple stores and will provide technical and specialized expertise in the areas of deterring, observing, apprehending and processing shoplifting suspects, without increased liability or negative impact to customer service. This includes:-¢ patrolling the assigned Publix location while portraying oneself as a shopper-¢ conducting surveillance on the sales floor, using CCTV or generally concealing one''s presence from a suspect so to detect, apprehend and prevent persons (customers, associates and vendors) from shoplifting-¢ taking an active role in identifying all forms of loss and the probable causes-¢ making apprehensions of persons suspected of shoplifting, including but not limited to: ensuring all conditions have been met, advising management of the impending apprehensions and supporting circumstances and approaching and detaining suspects-¢ conducting interviews of shoplifters while avoiding disruptions of business-¢ preparing written reports and obtaining witness statements of incidents and activities-¢ avoiding exposure to liability through adherence to operating policies and procedures-¢ recognizing possible (ORC) Organized Retail Crime-¢ communicating with law enforcement and-¢ representing Publix throughout prosecutions to include depositions and court appearances.
