Job Description Who You Are Boats Group is excited to announce that we’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join our US finance team. The Senior Accountant should be an experienced, and driven individual with strong attention to detail skills who will report to the Assistant Controller and be responsible for the general ledger accounting functions and assisting with the month end close. This role is an integral part of the finance team and may require communication with the managers and directors across other departments while working directly with the finance team. This individual will also need to manage timely deliverables and prioritize responsibilities using sound judgment to effectively handle and respond to situations with some supervision. Candidates must have a ‘can do’ attitude and be comfortable working in a multi-faceted, fast changing environment. What You’ll Do Assist in the month end close process by analyzing monthly activity and recording journal entries to the General Ledger. Prepare and review month end reconciliations and analysis. Review month-end financial reports to ensure accuracy and completeness of expenses. Prepare monthly vendor trend reports and analysis. Calculate and review commission payments, and work with field personnel to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payouts. Complete monthly billing and production audits as necessary. Coordinate and assist with budgeting and forecasting processes Support external and internal audits Develop and perform complex and non-complex financial analysis and reporting including preparation of financial commentary Improve internal financial and statistical reporting Analytical financial reviews and ad hoc analyses Document policies, procedures and controls. Review for control weaknesses and suggest improvements. Perform special projects such other accounting, financial or administrative tasks as assigned What You Should Have Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance Minimum of 4+ years of accounting experience with strong attention to detail and analytical skills Public accounting experience and/or CPA, a plus Experience recording journal entries, reconciliation preparation and complex financial analysis Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles Experience in financial reporting and internal controls review Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to work through complex problems and implement effective solutions Superior communication skills catered to a wide variety of audiences Strong PC skills, must be proficient in Excel Experience with NetSuite general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, a plus High level of professionalism -- must thrive on teamwork, overcoming obstacles and gaining shared vision on complex issues Strong business acumen is a must, as well as strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with ability to draw conclusions based on data Ability to excel in a team-oriented, collaborative, and fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal skills Company Description WHO WE ARE We are creatives, UX designers, programmers, sales gurus and data junkies.
